Problem Statement

Moltech faced challenges in expanding its Used Cooking Oil (UCO) collection network among large corporations and institutional entities in Malaysia. Prior to PRIMO’s engagement, Moltech’s UCO collection was primarily concentrated among retail food chains, limiting its collection volume and the scalability of its downstream Bioenergy production.

The Mandate

PRIMO was engaged to lead strategic business development and facilitate access to GLCs and major institutional entities in Malaysia, with the objective of expanding Moltech’s UCO collection network, increasing feedstock volume, and consequently strengthening its Bioenergy production capacity.

Project Outcome

PRIMO successfully facilitated a strategic commercial engagement with QSR Brands, a Johor State-owned corporation and the operator of KFC restaurants in Malaysia, enabling Moltech to collect UCO from its branches nationwide starting from the southern region.

PRIMO also successfully secured a contract with the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) to collect UCO from three of its major camps, further expanding Moltech’s access to institutional sources of UCO.

These engagements created new and scalable channels for UCO collection, enabling Moltech to significantly broaden its institutional sourcing network and increase its potential feedstock volume for Bioenergy production.
